WiFi Networks of Rafisa

The SSIDs of the WiFi Networks at Rafisa are:

RAFISA-GUEST - for Guests and the Apprentices. To connect to this WiFi, you must ask the Helpdesk or your Master for the Password.

RAFISA-WLAN - Authentication works with the AD-Login. You will be automatically connected to the correct VLAN. How the Authentification works: 802.1X

Connectivity Access points

The access points are connected to a VLAN trunk on which VLANs 21 (instructor), 22 (student) and 23 (guest) are tagged and VLAN 1 is untagged. The PVID of the port should be 1. VLAN 1 is used for communication between Access Points and the UniFi Controller.

:!: It is very important that Loopguard for the VLAN trunks is switched off on the switch, as otherwise errors may occur and the port may be deactivated as a result.

Signalstrength explanation

the signal strength is visualised on the heatmap with colors. A list of the colours, their meaning and which internet-services work good or bad with which colours*:

Colour Meaning Working services Impaired services
Yellow Very strong signal Streaming, Surfing, Videocalls none
Orange Strong Signal Streaming, Surfing, Videocalls Streaming (4K @ 60Hz)
Red Fair Signal Streaming, surfing, video calls Streaming (HD @ 60Hz, 4K)
Violet Weak Signal Surfing Streaming, video calls
Blue Very weak signal none Surfing, Text messages

* This Calculation is made with recent hardware in mind! Devices that do not support Dual-Band WiFi and don't have WiFi 5 or 6 support, are excluded from this calculation!
