====== WLAN system at the Basel site ====== ^ Version ^ Status ^ Date of release ^ Author ^ URL ^ | 0.1 | First draft | 23.04.2024 | F.K. | | ===== WLAN networks of Rafisa ===== The SSIDs of the Rafisa WLAN networks are RAFISA-WLAN and RAFISA-GUEST. In the RAFISA WLAN, authentication takes place according to [[de:intern:ipa:tp2022:ipa_tp2022|802.1X]]: Based on membership of an AD group, you are connected to the corresponding VLAN after logging in. In RAFISA-GUEST, login is via WPA2-Personal with a password. The password can be requested from the helpdesk. ===== Connecting the access points ===== The access points are connected to a VLAN trunk on which VLANs 21 (instructor), 22 (student) and 23 (guest) are tagged and VLAN 1 is untagged. The PVID of the port should be 1. VLAN 1 is used for communication between access points and the Unifi controller. :!: It is very important that Loopguard for the VLAN trunks is switched off on the switch, as otherwise errors may occur and the port may be deactivated as a result. ===== IP addresses of the access points ===== ^ Host name ^ Switch ^ Port ^ IP address ^ Mac address (ETH) ^ VLAN ^ Type designation ^ WiFi standard ^ Location ^ | AP-BS-01 | 172.22.1.2 | 44 | 172.22.1.31 | | 1,21,22,23 | UAP-AC-PRO | WiFi 4 / 5 | Office | Further information under: [[de:technische-dokumentationen:installationsanleitungen:wlan_radius_und_gastnetzwerk_installation|Installation instructions - Wlan, Radius and guest network installation]] ===== Heatmap of all floors ===== ====Software used==== The Heatmapper programme used was developed by Tobias Stähli on behalf of the IFS as part of an individual practical project (IPA) as a final project for the computer science course. Here is a list of the colours, their meanings and which internet services work well or not well with which colours*: ^ Colour ^ Colour Meaning ^ Functioning services ^ Restricted services ^ | Yellow | Very strong signal | Streaming, surfing, video calls | None | | Orange | Strong signal | Streaming, surfing, video calls | Streaming (4K with 60Hz) | | Red | Moderately strong signal | Streaming, surfing, video calls | Streaming (UHD with 60Hz, 4K) | | Purple | Weak signal | Surfing | Streaming, video calls | | Blue | Very weak signal | None | Surfing, text messages | {{intern:netzwerk:heatmap-farblegende.jpg?600|}} //* Current hardware is assumed. Devices that do not support dual-band WiFi and do not have WiFi 5 or WiFi 6 on board, are excluded from the calculation!// ==== Rafisa office ====
