==== User names ====
User names are made up of the first letter of the first name plus the surname. If new users have identical user names, the number of letters in the first name abbreviation is increased by 1; if the first name and surname are identical, a consecutive number is added to the user abbreviation, starting with 01.

Physical devices: 
device-type/function-location-room-number-xx 
Virtual devices:

Test devices: 
test- device-type/function -room-number/virt/lab-network-number-xx 

xx is replaced by a number in the scheme 01,02,03,... 
The names are always written in lower case. 
Only the main function is specified for the device type/function. 

This means, for example 
A PC in Zurich on the 2nd floor in room 201 would be called  
pc-zh-201-01 (consecutively numbered).
