====== Set up an ICT workstation: Installing and setting up a Windows 10 client ====== ====== Setting up and testing the client ====== All steps contain links in the form of guides and videos that explain how to implement this step. During this task you will never need more than 1 VM 8 GB RAM should be sufficient. The official user manual can be obtained directly from __https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Documentation__ can be obtained directly from \\ ===== Documentation ===== In order to document the work performed, you create a documentation for the entire **task** a single document with a concise summary of the step, a description of the work process, the tests performed and a brief reflection based on this template: In this document you document **all** tests that you carry out. If the tests turn out badly, leave the test results in the documentation and carry out new tests after making the necessary adjustments, which you then also enter in the documentation. Upload the completed documentation to your Wekan order. \\ ===== Step 1: Install and set up VirtualBox ===== A NAT network with the name NATnet is to be configured in VirtualBox for the virtual machine. The network CIDR should be: 10.0.2.0/24 (normally the NAT network already has this value) === Information about === __Siehe VM Operating Instructions Chapter 6.2, 6.4__ \\ ===== Step 2: Basic installation of the client ===== In step 2, you set up a Windows 10 Enterprise client that you will use to test the services that you will install in the course of this training task. ==== Step 2a: Installing a Windows 10 Enterprise client ==== Install a Windows 10 Enterprise client within your virtual environment - i.e. in your NAT network - with the following specifications: === Client Base Settings === Virtual HW: 2GB RAM\\ Partition: 30GB\\ OS: Windows 10 Enterprise\\ IP address: DHCP (still DHCP of the NAT network)\\ Hostname: PC-ZH-01 === Host information === __Windows 10 Enterprise ISO Download__ \\ ==== (Optional) Step 2b: Create an image Windows 10 Enterprise Client ==== It is helpful to use several PCs for testing. It is therefore also advisable to create a template from the PC. Export an image of the Windows 10 client in the same way as step 2b. With the difference that you do not have to prepare the PC with sysprep. ===== Step 3: Installing the standard software ===== Finally, the software should be installed according to company standards. Select the appropriate type from the following list and install the required software. Please also note that you may have to uninstall unwanted software in order to fulfil the requirements. ^ Software type ^ Standard image ^ Notebook image ^ Linux image ^ Default ^ | Windows 10 Enterprise N | ✔️ | ✔️ | ❌ | | | MS Office 365 | ❌ | ✔️ | ❌ | docx, xslx, potx, mailto | | LibreOffice suite | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | | | Notepad++ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ❌ | | | Acrobat Reader | ✔️ | ✔️ | ❌ | pdf | | 7-zip | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | | | Firefox | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | | | Chrome | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | | | Brave | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | html | | Putty | ✔️ | ✔️ | ❌ | | | Filezilla | ✔️ | ✔️ | ❌ | | | FOG client | ❌ | ❌ | ❌ | | | WinSCP | ✔️ | ✔️ | ❌ | | | Win32 Disk Imager | ✔️ | ✔️ | ❌ | | | Rufus | ✔️ | ✔️ | ❌ | | | Teams | ❌ | ✔️ | ✔️ | | | VirtualBox | ❌ | ✔️ | ✔️ | | | Git-Client((https://git-scm.com/downloads)) | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | | | draw.io((https://www.diagrams.net/)) | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | | | VLC Media Player((https://www.videolan.org)) | ❌ | ✔️ | ✔️ | video + audio | | OneDrive (uninstall Business, install 365) | ❌ | ✔️ | ❌ | | | OpenVPN Client((https://openvpn.net/community-downloads/)) | ❌ | ✔️ | ❌ | | ===== Step 4: Testing ===== Please test the entire solution. To do this, use the test protocols that you will find in the documentation template. At least fulfil the following requirements: * The virtual HW of the created VM corresponds to the given specifications * The Windows 10 client can connect to the Internet * The specified software is installed/uninstalled and working
